Dr. Cullen is a double board-certified psychiatrist in Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She earned her medical degree from The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, where she received the James Mathis Award in recognition of her dedication to patient mental health and well-being. She completed both her General Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).

During her training at MUSC, Dr. Cullen gained extensive experience across specialized clinical settings, including a PTSD clinic at the VA Hospital, a sleep disorders clinic, and a reproductive psychiatry clinic. She was actively involved in medical education as a member of the Resident Education Committee and served as Chief Fellow during her final year of fellowship. Dr. Cullen has taught medical students, residents, and fellows at MUSC and the University of South Carolina, where she served as an Assistant Professor.

Since completing her training, Dr. Cullen has provided psychiatric care to patients across the lifespan—from preschool-aged children to geriatric adults—in a wide range of clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency psychiatry, and telepsychiatry. She plays an integral role in expanding access to psychiatric care in underserved and remote communities through the South Carolina Department of Mental Health’s Emergency Telepsychiatry Program. She also delivers expert psychiatric assessments and treatment recommendations for complex and high-risk patients through the state’s Interagency Consult Service.

Dr. Cullen practices with a collaborative, patient-centered approach, emphasizing evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions and thoughtful medication management when indicated. She has been consistently recognized for her empathy, professionalism, and commitment to high-quality patient care. Her clinical interests include anxiety and mood disorders, dialectical and cognitive behavioral therapies, and mindfulness-based practices. Dr. Cullen is dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and adults throughout every stage of their treatment journey.
